Each company is run by its own president. Marcus holds the chair, sets the standard and stays out of the way.
Northfield moves freight for grocers, builders and manufacturers across six states. It began with two trucks and a borrowed warehouse, and it still answers the phone the way it did then.
The company is known for paying drivers weekly, publishing its rates and giving every employee the same quarterly numbers the owners see.
Hale Capital manages the family's holdings and lends to owner operated companies that banks find too small or too plain. Terms are written in one page and never change after signing.
The office also seats the group's shared finance, legal and people teams, so each company can stay small at the top.
Meridian runs eleven outpatient clinics in towns that lost their hospital. It was acquired in 2020 from a retiring founder who wanted it kept whole, and it has been kept whole.
Every clinic posts its prices at the door and sees patients the same week they call.
The Commons Fund makes grants and first checks to founders who sign the same three standards the group runs on. Checks are small, terms are plain and every founder gets a monthly hour with an operator, not just an investor.
Applications open twice a year.
